Stationswijk

The neighbourhood around a station usually has a negative image. The municipal council wiped it completely off the map with a huge urban renewal plan. The Stationstraat, i.e. the shopping street of Sint-Niklaas, the Stationsplein [Station Square] and the station building have been entirely redeveloped and renovated. The district has since been highly prized by all commuters. The many bars, restaurants and the Siniscoop cinema complex provide a pleasant and vibrant atmosphere.
